Seriously, I don’t usually use clickbaity titles but bear with me on this one.
MapKit on Apple platforms was always a Schrödinger’s cat—a fragile superposition: astonishment at the power of these tools at our fingertips; simultaneous appallment at the awful jank required to actually achieve anything.
The Map in SwiftUI has collapsed this engineering wavefunction. Now we can wield all this power via some very tidy APIs. Working with Apple SDKs like this feels like having a thousands-strong R&D team for your company.
To demonstrate how to use these features, I built a little SwiftUI map app with an interactive tour of the famous Circle Line Pub Crawl.
This demonstrates the most powerful APIs in SwiftUI’s Map.
